The US container ship queue reached 6 ships awaiting berth this week, per MARAD, up 200% week over week from 2 ships. That puts the total 70% below the five-year median despite the large percentage move. LA/Long Beach, NY/NJ and Savannah all hold Flowing import-friction reads.

• East Coast ships at anchor (MARAD): 5 ships, up 150% week over week from 2 ships the prior week, and 71% below the five-year median. The East Coast count drove most of the national gain.
• Savannah ships awaiting berth (MARAD): 2 ships, up 100% week over week and 75% below the five-year median. At the complex's trailing-12-month normal of 2 ships. Friction read: Flowing.
• LA/Long Beach ships awaiting berth (Marine Exchange/MARAD): 1 ship, at its trailing-12-month normal of 1 ship and 50% below the five-year median. Friction read: Flowing.
• Gulf Coast ships at anchor (MARAD): 0 ships, 100% below the five-year median.
• Truck planning-time index (BTS): LA/Long Beach at 4.07, exactly at its trailing-12-month normal of 4.07. NY/NJ at 3.82, below its trailing-12-month normal of 3.97. Both complexes Flowing on the truck side.
